Creative Impact: Ras Kasozi Shares Fashion Experience with Young Congolese Mothers at HOLD DRC

We are so proud of Merita Movement collaborateur, Ras Kasozi of KAS WEAR for his dedication and achievement this week in an intensive workshop with teen mothers from Goma’s HOLD DRC organization (Humanitarian Organization for Lasting Development).

In one week they began lessons in drawing inspiration, sketching original designs, drafting their pattern, stitching, fitting and finishing – all of which concluded with a photo shoot by Ugandan photographer Gilbert Frank Daniels and Congolese artist Justin Justkas Kasereka followed by a runway show which opened Merita Movement, Yolé!Africa‘s ‘Sote Tujenge’ (Building Each Other) community celebration of shared arts and creativity.

Many thanks to Congolese journalist Gaïus Vagheni Kowene for sharing the experience.
